The John Tyler Presidential $1 coin was released in 2009 as part of the Presidential $1 Coin Program, which began in 2007. This series honors deceased U.S. Presidents in the order they served. Tyler, known as ‘His Accidency,’ became president after William Henry Harrison’s death, serving from 1841 to 1845.
